Jesus and Keble Boathouse, located in Oxford, is home to the Keble College Boat Club, one of the largest and most successful college boat clubs within Oxford University. With a deep squad of dedicated athletes, a committed coaching team, and support from the college, alumni, boatman, and sponsor, the club has experienced great success in recent years.
The Men's first boat has held the Headship on eight occasions in the highly anticipated Summer Eights, most recently in 2018. Currently in third position on the river, they were bumped by Oriel in 2019 and Christ Church in 2022. The women's first boat, on the other hand, is in eighth position after reaching fifth place in 2017. The club consistently fields many boats, with six crews racing in the 2022 Summer Eights.
Jesus and Keble Boathouse welcomes all students of Keble College, regardless of previous experience, to join their rowing club. Whether you're a seasoned rower or have never seen a rowing boat before, the club caters to all levels of commitment and experience. Rowing is something that everyone who comes to Oxford should at least try, and Keble College Boat Club provides the perfect opportunity to do so.
In addition to the exhilaration of rowing, the club offers a vibrant social schedule. Regular crewdates, black tie meals, and general drinks nights allow members to forge new friendships and create lasting memories. Keble College Boat Club is not just about physical exertion; it's a community that embraces camaraderie and support.
For those interested in joining the club, there is a novice training programme in Michaelmas term that caters to complete novices. Through high-quality coaching, novices quickly learn the basics and have the opportunity to compete against novices from other colleges in the Linacre Novice Regatta. The training programme prepares novices to merge with the senior squad in preparation for prestigious events such as the Henley Boat Races, Torpids, and Summer Eights.
Regardless of your background, height, or size, Keble College Boat Club is open to everyone. The club breaks stereotypes and believes that anyone can thrive in the sport. Whether you aspire to be in the top boats or simply want to enjoy the exercise and camaraderie a few times a week, the club welcomes you with open arms.
