Welcome to Jesmond Pool & Gym, a renowned swimming facility and leisure centre located in Newcastle upon Tyne. Operating as a charity since its reopening in 1992, Jesmond Pool & Gym is committed to promoting health and fitness in the community across all age groups.
Our 22m pool offers a range of activities including lane and family swimming sessions, aqua fit classes, Masters sessions, pool parties, mermaid experiences, and chill out sessions. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced swimmer, we have something for everyone.
Jesmond Aqua School, our swimming school, provides private and group swimming lessons for both children and adults. All our swimming instructors are qualified under British Swimming and CRB checked, ensuring that your child receives professional guidance in a safe environment. We also offer RLSS accredited lifeguard courses on a regular basis.
In addition to the pool, we have two fully-equipped gyms: 'The Basement Gym' and 'The Poolside Gym'. The Basement Gym features a variety of cardiovascular equipment, weight stack machines, free weight bars, and dumbbells. The Poolside Gym, refurbished in 2019, boasts state-of-the-art equipment including cardiovascular machines and more. Our in-house personal trainer is available to provide guided sessions, and our exercise expert for older adults conducts dedicated sessions for individuals over 50.
Our upstairs activity room hosts a diverse range of exercise classes, delivered by expert teachers. From children's dance classes to Tai Chi, there is something for everyone. During lockdown, many of these classes were moved online to ensure continued access to fitness opportunities.
Jesmond Pool & Gym is proud to be the home of the Jesmond Joggers, a collegiate group for enthusiastic runners in the community. Our facilities are also available for hosting children's parties and other events.
For those seeking relaxation and therapy, Jala Therapies, located within our premises, offers various massage and relaxation treatments.
