Join the fun with the Jerusalem Jammers! Based in Leicester, this lively dance group is a cornerstone of the Morris dancing tradition. Founded in 1982 by a spirited group of WI ladies, the Jammers welcome dancers and musicians of all backgrounds, and yes, men can join too!
Led by Sue Crockett, the team regularly dazzles audiences at events like fetes and meetings with their energetic routines. They practise at St Bartholomew's Church Hall, Kirby Muxloe, usually on the last Saturday of each month from 10am to noon – but do check their social media for updates.
Upcoming performances include the Kirby Muxloe Fun Day on 10th September 2023, a Children in Need event on 19th November 2023, an Anstey WI event on 13th December 2023, and a Rearsby WI event on 14th March 2024. Be sure to arrive 30 minutes early for a good spot!
The Jammers perform a variety of dances from Grenoside Square to Bluebell Polka, mixing traditional and modern tunes. Their photo page showcases their past performances and dedication.
Interested in joining? Whether you're a newbie or a seasoned dancer, Jerusalem Jammers would love to have you. Contact Sue Crockett for more details and become a part of their vibrant community!
