The Welland Jackfish, Niagara's sports entertainment destination, is hosting the inaugural School Day Game on Tuesday, May 7th and they couldn't be more excited about it! This special event is all about bringing elementary school children from the District School Board of Niagara and Niagara Catholic District School Board together to cheer on the Jackfish as they face off against the Hamilton Cardinals at 11 am in a pre-season match-up at Welland Stadium.
It's not just about the game though - the School Day Game offers a unique learning experience for kids in the Niagara Region. Students will have the chance to take part in various activities focused on healthy-active living, math and statistics, geography, and mental health awareness. Each student will even receive a special Jackfish exercise book to use during the game and in the classroom afterwards.
If you're a school faculty member interested in learning more or registering your students for this exciting event, reach out to the Jackfish representative, Tyler Evans, at [email protected] or give him a call at 905-735-9834. Reservations are easy - just provide an estimate of the number of students attending. And if your school can't make it, there are fundraising options available to help support student participation.
Please remember, the School Day Game is specifically for school-aged children from the local Niagara school boards and tickets are not included in the 2023-24 season ticket package. This is a fantastic opportunity for kids to be part of the fun and community spirit at a Welland Jackfish game - don't miss out!
