Members who oversee the various aspects of the club's operations. The committee is responsible for making crucial decisions, managing finances, organising events, establishing policies, and ensuring the smooth running of the club.
At Ivanhoe Knights, we prioritise providing a positive and inclusive environment for our players and their families. We believe in the importance of learning and development, as well as fostering a love for the game. Our coaches, team managers, and referees are committed to promoting fair play, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
The club has a strong focus on community engagement and actively participates in outreach programmes in local primary schools. We believe in making basketball accessible to all, and our introductory and skills clinics are designed to encourage new players to join the sport.
Throughout the season, the club fields approximately 110 teams across various age groups. Our players come from a wide range of suburbs in Melbourne's north-east, including Clifton Hill, Fairfield, Thornbury, Northcote, Preston, Alphington, Eaglemont, Ivanhoe, Heidelberg, Viewbank, Kew East, Balwyn North, and beyond.
Games are played on Saturdays at different locations and times, while each team also enjoys a one-hour mid-week training session. Our teams participate in the Eastern Districts Junior Basketball Association (EDJBA) competition, where they have the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete against other clubs.
We are proud to have the support of our valuable sponsors, whose contributions enable us to provide quality programmes, equipment, and facilities for our players. Our sponsors include local businesses, such as the Bendigo Bank (East Ivanhoe and Heidelberg), Picket Fence Café (East Ivanhoe), and Miles Real Estate. We encourage our community to show their support for these sponsors.
