Adam Cooper Sensei would like to share a quick update with the sports community about Isshinkai Aikido London. The dojo, right in the heart of Vauxhall, stands proud offering top-notch Aikido classes for everyone, regardless of age or skill level.
To keep up with the times, Adam has set up Virtual Dojo Sessions. This means people can now learn and practise Aikido from the comfort of their living rooms. Signing up is a breeze; just pop over to the Isshinkai Aikido London website.
Prefer to train in person? Adam welcomes students every Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm. There's also a special members-only practise night on Thursdays, same time.
For those who might not know, Aikido is a Japanese martial art focused on self-defence, emphasising non-violence and conflict resolution. By joining Isshinkai Aikido London, participants will not only pick up new skills but also boost their physical and mental well-being. It's about moving gracefully and avoiding unnecessary struggle.
Adam and his team of experienced instructors are passionate about helping everyone grow through Aikido. They create a friendly and supportive space for all students. And a quick note on attire: Off the mat, traditional Japanese flip-flop sandals (Zori) are preferred to keep things clean. On the mat, a white Gi (like judo attire) is the way to go. Newbies can just bring clean clothes, ideally long-sleeved tops, and avoid shorts.
The venue is at Vauxhall Gardens Community Centre on Glasshouse Walk. Easy to find—just go to the back of the building, ground floor, up a small flight of stairs, and follow the hall to the left.
Adam is committed to ensuring that whether online or face-to-face, Isshinkai Aikido London remains a welcoming space for all. For more details or to sign up, head to the website or get in touch directly. Happy training, everyone!
