Designed by Ross Watson, the par 69, 18-hole layout offers a challenge for experienced players while remaining enjoyable for average golfers. The fairways are lined with she oak and paper bark trees, providing a beautiful and relaxing environment for a round of golf. The club takes great pride in their Bent Grass greens, often described as the best north of Newcastle, which are the result of decades of dedicated maintenance.
Located just a ten-minute drive off the Pacific Motorway and 30 minutes south of Coffs Harbour, the club is easily accessible. Visitors are encouraged to stop by and take in the breathtaking views, enjoy a cold drink, or even have lunch on the deck overlooking the river.
In addition to golf, Island Golf Club offers a range of services and activities for members and visitors. The clubhouse is open every day and features raffles every Wednesday night from 6pm. Happy Hour runs from Monday to Friday from 4pm to 5pm. The on-site restaurant serves lunch every day of the week and dinner on Tuesday to Saturday nights.
The fully stocked Pro Shop provides everything golfers need, including motorised carts for hire.
Island Golf Club also has reciprocal agreements with other golf clubs, allowing members of these clubs to play at Nambucca Heads for discounted rates. The list of clubs with existing rights is constantly changing and can be viewed on the club's website.
