Irish Karate Kyokushinkai is affiliated with the International Federation of Karate and offers training at various dojos (clubs) across Ireland, including locations in Cork, Dublin, Galway, Laois, Mayo, Sligo, and Westmeath. Each club page provides contact details for the instructor, as well as the address and a map for easy navigation.
The IKK was established in 1978 by Gerry O'Sullivan, with the first dojo opened in the same year. Kevin Callan later took over as Chief Instructor and has since grown the organisation into a successful and respected martial arts school. Shihan Kevin, as he is now known, has been leading the IKK for over three decades, continuing to promote the art of Kyokushin karate in Ireland.
Shihan Liam Keaveney, a Sandan (third-degree black belt) and originally from Ireland, plays a significant role in the IKK as the Life President. His regular visits to Ireland for gradings and courses have helped to develop the skills and knowledge of practitioners within the organisation.
