Tan's Taekwondo – Ipswich has recently made waves in the Taekwondo community with the exceptional performance of its 11 students at the fifth Gold Coast Open. Impressively, every single student brought home a medal from the largest non-State competition in Australia. This accomplishment is truly a testament to the hard work and dedication that the students put into their training.
The competition itself was no walk in the park. Most of the sparring students had to face two opponents in order to secure a medal. Despite the tough challenge, the team showed incredible resilience and determination. Their unwavering support for each other during training and the competition played a significant role in their success.
Now, the focus for these talented students is shifting towards the upcoming Caboolture Open Taekwondo Championships. This exciting event is scheduled to take place from June 15th at Morayfield. It promises to be another thrilling opportunity for our students to showcase their skills and determination. We have high hopes that they will continue to make us proud.
In addition to the Caboolture Championships, some of our students, who are current national champions, have been selected to defend their titles in Adelaide this October. However, the journey to Adelaide poses a challenge as securing sponsorship for travel and accommodation is crucial. We reach out to Ipswich businesses who may be interested in supporting these talented individuals. If you or your company would like to contribute to their success, please feel free to contact Kevin Donaldson at 0429 609 180 or the Ipswich PCYC at 3281 2547.
Coach Donaldson, who has played an integral role in the success of our students, has received a prestigious invitation. He has been invited to undertake his third Dan Black Belt grading in mid-2015 in South Korea at Kukkiwon, the World Taekwondo headquarters. This is a remarkable achievement and a true testament to Coach Donaldson's expertise and commitment to our club.
As Tan's Taekwondo – Ipswich continues to make its mark in the world of Taekwondo, we are grateful for the continuous support of our local community. Together, we can inspire and empower our students to reach new heights in their Taekwondo journey.
