Sparring is a major focus in our curriculum, and it is introduced within the first month of training. It is a dynamic and exciting aspect of Tae Kwon Do, where students engage in controlled combat with a partner. This practise helps students to develop their reflexes, timing, and strategy. Our sparring sessions are conducted in a safe and controlled environment, with protective gear provided.
At the Institute of Modern Tae Kwon Do, we believe that self-defence is a crucial aspect of martial arts training. Through our curriculum, students learn practical and effective self-defence techniques that can be applied in real-life situations. Our instructors provide step-by-step instruction, focusing on situational awareness, prevention, and response tactics.
Fitness and strength are key components in the development of our students towards achieving their black belt. Our training sessions incorporate dynamic warm-ups, cardio exercises, strength training, and endurance drills. We aim to improve our students' overall fitness levels, agility, and stamina. Regular training sessions contribute to a healthy lifestyle and improved physical well-being.
To add an extra dimension to the development of our students' skills and understanding, we organise tournaments and training camps. These events provide opportunities for students to set and achieve goals, challenge themselves, and showcase their abilities. Tournaments allow students to compete against practitioners from other clubs and gain valuable experience in a competitive setting. Training camps offer intensive training sessions, workshops, and seminars conducted by experienced instructors, promoting growth and camaraderie among students.
