The Indoor Athletics Centre (IAC) in Uxbridge is a state-of-the-art gym and training facility that caters to a wide range of athletes. Located in a climate-controlled environment, the IAC allows athletes to train regardless of the weather conditions outside.
The facility boasts a variety of features, including a running track, jumping pits, throwing areas, weight rooms, fitness studios, and other amenities. It is used by track and field athletes, sprinters, jumpers, throwers, cross-country runners, as well as recreational athletes and individuals training for fitness.
One of the main advantages of training at the IAC is the ability to train year-round, regardless of the weather. Athletes can also benefit from a safe and controlled environment that allows them to focus on their training without distractions. Furthermore, the IAC provides access to specialised equipment and facilities that enhance athletic performance and cater to specific training needs.
The running track, made of high-quality synthetic material, is the centrepiece of the IAC. Spanning 100 metres, it features 6 lanes, providing ample space for athletes to practise and compete. The jumping pits are filled with sand or foam to ensure a soft landing for long jump and triple jump athletes. The throwing areas are equipped with safety nets to protect both athletes and spectators during shot put, discus throw, and javelin throw events.
The IAC also offers weights areas for strength training, complete with a variety of weight machines and free weights. Additionally, a fitness studio is available for aerobic exercises and other types of fitness training.
In addition to these core facilities, the IAC may also include a massage room and a physiotherapy clinic, making it a comprehensive destination for athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
The IAC offers memberships to members of the public, both adults and juniors. It should be noted that the strength and conditioning area is strictly for individuals aged 18 and over, unless supervised by a qualified coach.

Spanning an impressive 132 metres in length, the IAC is one of the largest indoor sport facilities in the country, offering ample space for a variety of activities.
