Are you the owner of Ikiyy Dj?

Welcome to Ikiyy Dj, a martial arts club based in Manchester. Ikiyy Dj embraces the traditional martial arts of Japan, including both unarmed and weapons techniques. These techniques have been practised for centuries by warriors of different classes and as self-defence for civilians.
At Ikiyy Dj, the art of Ikiyy-Ryu Bujutsu is both traditional and relevant. The club focuses on embodying the positive values of Budo (Martial ways) through its training syllabus. The syllabus includes various aspects such as Atemi Waza (striking), Nage waza (throwing), Kansetsu waza (joint locking), and Ne waza (ground fighting). Additionally, the club incorporates a range of weapons training, including Bo, Jo Hanbo, and Ken-jutsu.
One unique aspect of Ikiyy Dj is the incorporation of Ikiyy und, core movement exercises that follow natural movement in three dimensions. The club emphasises understanding the process of techniques rather than fixating on the end result. This approach is both unique to the school and universal in human movement.
What sets Ikiyy-Ryu Bujutsu apart from other martial arts is the comprehensive traditional Japanese martial arts syllabus it offers. The club takes an understanding of the body that begins with natural human movement and builds upon the skills and aptitude of each student. In a positive and supportive atmosphere, students are taught classical martial forms and their practical applications.
Ikiyy Dj is a not-for-profit unincorporated association run by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about the martial arts. The club aims to create a supportive and inclusive environment for students of all abilities.
Core to the training at Ikiyy Dj are Ikiyy und exercises. These core exercises serve as the building blocks of bujutsu and jujutsu techniques. Although they are not direct applications, many of the movements can be applied in different contexts. The movements are accessible to students of all abilities, making training inclusive for everyone.
The club follows a sequenced approach to learning, with one movement building upon another. The movements covered in Ikiyy und include Ashi und (leg/foot exercise), Ude und (arm exercise), Atemi und (striking exercise), Tekubi und (wrist exercise), and Tsukamu und (grab exercise). These movements are taught to improve students' understanding of martial arts movement and enhance their technique.
At Ikiyy Dj, the focus is on learning and personal growth. Students are encouraged to take one step at a time, following the principle of “ichinichiippo” (one day one step). The club provides a safe and supportive learning environment, where students can develop their skills and gain insight into martial arts movement.
If you're looking for a martial arts club that combines tradition, relevance, and a supportive community, then Ikiyy Dj is the place for you. Join a class and embark on a fulfilling journey towards self-improvement through the practise of Ikiyy-Ryu Bujutsu.
