Huntly Nordic, the local Skiing club in Huntly, is thrilled to announce an upcoming skiing event that is sure to impress all ski enthusiasts. With a range of ski lessons catered to all ages and skill levels, Huntly Nordic has something for everyone.
For beginners eager to hit the slopes, our After School Sessions offer the perfect opportunity to learn and improve your cross-country skiing techniques. These sessions take place on Tuesday evenings during the school term and focus on roller skis during the summer months or cross-country skis during the winter. Beginners' sessions run from 4pm to 5pm, while improvers' sessions are scheduled from 5pm to 6pm. Each lesson costs £6.50 and must be booked and paid for in advance. For those with busy schedules, additional sessions may be available on weekends as well.
If you have little ones looking to embark on their skiing journey, be sure to check out our Sunday Morning Kids Club. These club sessions are held fortnightly and alternate between beginners and improvers. Parents are kindly reminded to book the appropriate level for their child. The sessions are £8.20 per session and available during winter.
For those seeking excitement, our Public Tubing Sessions are not to be missed. These action-packed sessions are available on weekends, public holidays, and in-service days. You and your family can enjoy an hour of tubing fun with up to five people per session. Time slots are at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm. Prices for a family tubing session start at £21.75, and individual prices are also available.
For children who have completed our After School Sessions or Sunday Club Sessions, we offer an exclusive invite to join our Junior Development Squad (JDS). This squad aims to develop cross-country skiing skills on and off the snow, with the opportunity to earn one of the 6 coloured awards. Held from 10am to 2pm, an 8-session block costs £81.65, with a discounted price of £76.25 for siblings. Transportation to the Clashindarroch Forest is required if there is snow. Throughout the block, participants will improve their skiing technique, engage in team games inspired by Olympic Winter Sports, and celebrate their achievements with a certificate ceremony and a party with food and games. Who knows? Full completion may even lead to a chance to train with the British Nordic Development Squad.
At Huntly Nordic, we understand that snow may not always be available. That's why we also offer Para Nordic Activities for those looking to stay active without snow. Roller skiing, a summer alternative to Nordic skiing, allows participants to replicate the same technique and motion as on snow. It is suitable for beginners and experienced skiers, helping to develop balance, strength, and a sense of freedom on wheels. We even offer roller skiing with a kneeling ski rig and mountain board for those needing seated adaptations. These fun-filled, high-energy sessions are hosted by experienced Nordic ski instructors.
So, whether you're a beginner looking to make your first ski tracks or an experienced skier aiming for new heights, Huntly Nordic has the perfect ski lessons and activities for you. Join us for an unforgettable skiing experience and be part of the thrill and adventure that awaits on the slopes.
