Welcome to Hucclecote Rugby Football Club, located in Gloucester, Gloucestershire. Established in 1970, our club has a rich history and a strong sense of community. We are proud to welcome members and non-members alike, inviting everyone to explore the facilities we offer and discover the exciting events that lie ahead.
Throughout our 40+ years of existence, Hucclecote RFC has been a nomadic team, playing and changing locations at various fields and clubs including Hucclecote Secondary modern school, The Pineholt club, The Hucclecote community Centre, The Wagon & Horses, and The Royal Oak. However, after many years of negotiations and the help of a lottery grant, we finally have a permanent home in Hucclecote. Our clubhouse was opened 15 years ago, marking a significant milestone in our journey. While we had to rename the club as Hucclecote RFC due to the lottery funding, our old boys are still very much a part of the club in the background.
Over the years, Hucclecote RFC has produced several notable players who have gone on to achieve great things in the world of rugby. Some have represented the British Lions, England colts caps, Welsh senior and U21 squads, as well as the senior sevens squad. Many of our players have also gone on to play for esteemed clubs such as Gloucester, Harlequins, Cinderford, and Cheltenham. We take immense pride in their accomplishments and honour their legacy.
In addition to our senior teams, we also run a vibrant mini and junior section, catering to children from under 6's to under 17's. We believe that these budding players could potentially become the next generation of Hucclecote players. It is not uncommon to see fathers and sons playing on the same side, and we may soon witness grandsons joining the ranks. On one tour, we even had six sets of brothers playing together, emphasising the strong familial bond within our club.
At Hucclecote RFC, we strive to be seen as a family club that performs excellently on the field. We cultivate an inclusive and warm environment that encourages camaraderie, sportsmanship, and a passion for the sport. Whether you are a seasoned player, a novice, or a spectator looking for a great game of rugby, you will find a welcoming home at Hucclecote RFC.
