The name HrdKAW is derived from Kirsten's initials, K. A. W, who is one of the co-owners and came up with the name. The gym acknowledges and pays respect to the Dharug people as the Traditional Owners of the land on which it is built.

HrdKAW Strength and Weightlifting Club is renowned as the largest Weightlifting Club in New South Wales (NSW). The club offers a variety of services and programmes, including athlete development, youth scholarships, performance testing, women's only classes, guest and keynote speaking, and gymnastics.

The club is co-owned and coached by Australian representative athletes Melissa Wu, who is a 4-time Olympian in Diving, and Joshua Wu and Madeline Wu, who are both dedicated to the sport of Weightlifting. As experienced AWF level 2 coaches, Joshua and Madeline bring their expertise and knowledge to the training programmes offered at HrdKAW.

HrdKAW Strength is not just a gym or a fitness centre; it is an athlete performance hub. The club specialises in Olympic Weightlifting and focuses on long-term athlete development. Athletes of all ages and abilities, starting from U12 and going up to masters, are welcome to join the club. HrdKAW has athletes across all age ranges competing at State, National, and International level competitions.

The club takes pride in its high standard of coaching, offering individualised programming tailored to each athlete's specific needs. The coaching team combines their elite level experience as athletes with their years of coaching knowledge and expertise to develop strong, resilient athletes with excellent movement and technique.
