Since 1972, this family-run school has been offering fantastic riding experiences, whether you're a total beginner or an experienced equestrian.
Ian & Elizabeth have ensured that Houston is a licenced school approved by both the British Horse Society (BHS) and the Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS), underscoring their commitment to quality instruction and safety. They offer group and private lessons, as well as fun birthday rides tailored to suit your needs.
Riders come from all corners of the globe, including America, Hong Kong, Australia, Germany, and France, to benefit from the expertise of Houston’s knowledgeable instructors. Starting with just three ponies, Houston has grown impressively, now featuring 54 horses and ponies to suit every rider.
The facilities at Houston are second to none, boasting two indoor riding arenas, a floodlit outdoor sand arena, and outdoor jumping courses. There’s also a raised seating area for spectators and a porta-cabin offering light refreshments and equestrian gear. Parking is free and off-road for added convenience.
Houston's dedication to training is clear, with a lecture room for courses and training sessions. They prepare young riders for ABRS tests and serve as a test centre, ensuring riders can achieve recognised accreditation for their skills.
