Hothouse, the choreographic training programme offered by YDance in collaboration with Scottish Ballet, is back and ready to inspire the next generation of talented choreographers! This exciting opportunity is open to young dancers aged 14 – 21 who are eager to discover, experiment, and develop their unique style in contemporary dance.
Delivered by a team of dedicated dance artists from Scottish Ballet and YDance, Hothouse offers a hybrid learning experience that combines online sessions with in-person workshops. And let's not forget the gorgeous Scottish Ballet studios at Tramway, Glasgow, where these workshops take place – the perfect setting to nurture creativity and artistic growth.
With only a limited number of spots available, this programme is designed to bring together up to 8 aspiring young choreographers. The magic happens when each choreographer collaborates with three fellow dancers to bring their vision to life. Yes, that's right, you'll have the thrilling opportunity to not only be a choreographer but also a dancer. It doesn't get much better than that!
But the excitement doesn't end there. Every piece created during Hothouse will be showcased in a performance, providing a platform for these talented young individuals to shine. And that's not all – two outstanding performances will be selected for an exclusive opportunity to be featured in the prestigious Project Y Evolution performance night at Tramway in July.
So, if you have a burning passion for dance, a creative spark that's just waiting to be ignited, and a desire to take your choreographic skills to the next level, Hothouse is the perfect opportunity for you. Don't miss out on this chance to join YDance and Scottish Ballet in shaping the future of contemporary dance. Apply now and let your artistic journey begin!
