Our Vessel, Hooked on 2, is a 33ft (9. 7m) Clayton Gallant fibreglass monohull vessel that was built to survey in 2004. It is powered by a 450hp Volvo Penta Diesel engine, ensuring a fast and comfortable ride. The boat features seating both inside the cabin and at the rear, providing ample space for all passengers.

The fishing area is fully undercover, offering protection from the sun and weather. Equipped with the latest electronics, live bait tank, and large ice boxes for your catch, the vessel ensures a successful and enjoyable fishing experience. Moreover, the custom-built hydraulic anchor winch allows for efficient and quick repositioning to fresh fishing spots.

At Hooked on 1770 Offshore Charters, we limit our charters to a maximum of 7 fishermen to guarantee ample space and comfort for everyone on board. The boat features both fore and aft steering stations to enhance the skipper's efficiency during the charter. Additionally, an enclosed toilet is easily accessible from the fishing area, ensuring convenience throughout the trip.

We offer both full and half day offshore fishing charters to cater to both individual fishermen and group bookings. All fishing equipment, including rods, reels, bait, and tackle, is provided for the charter. Our rods are 6ft, 15-24 kg Rhino sticks paired with either Shimano TLD20 overhead reels or Penn 750 spin reels running 50 lb line. However, customers are more than welcome to bring their own equipment if desired.

While our focus is primarily reef fishing or “bottom bashing,” we also accommodate those interested in trolling for pelagic species and sport fish.

The safety of our passengers is always our primary concern. Therefore, all scheduled charters are subject to suitable weather conditions. If the forecast calls for strong winds, the vessel will not be taken offshore to ensure the safety of everyone on board. Charters will be rescheduled to accommodate all parties involved whenever possible.

We primarily fish in deep water reef areas within 15 nautical miles of 1770, which are known for their abundant Nannygai, Sweetlip, Cod, Cobia, Mackerel, Hussar, and Parrot fish. There is also the opportunity to catch highly-desired species such as Red Emperor and Coral Trout. As you follow the coastline in a northerly direction from 1770, you will reach Bustard Head and the Bustard Head Lighthouse. These areas offer excellent fishing grounds for Mackerel, Tuna, Trevally, Snapper (in season), and are great for bottom fishing.

Additionally, there are trawler wrecks off the 1770 coastline that provide year-round fishing opportunities for Cobia, Tuna, Trevally, Cod, and occasional reef species.

Our full day charter runs for a total of 10 hours. Passengers will be picked up in the tender boat from the beach at 1770 Camping Grounds at 6am, and then ferried to the charter vessel. The day's catch is typically returned to the same beach at around 4pm. Passengers are responsible for bringing their own food and drinks for the day.

The cost for a full day charter is $330 per person. For those looking for a more private experience, we also offer a private charter option for a full day, priced at $2300 for a maximum of 7 customers.

If you prefer a shorter fishing trip, our half day charter is an excellent option. Running for 6 hours, the charter departs at 6am and returns at midday to the beach at 1770 Camping Grounds. Passengers are required to bring their own food and drinks for the trip. The cost for a half day charter is $220 per person, with a private charter option available for $1500, accommodating a maximum of 7 customers.
