Wing Tsun, a Chinese Kung Fu system that originated over 400 years ago, is known for its efficiency and effectiveness in self-defence. Its principles and techniques are based on the idea of a smaller, weaker person being able to overcome a larger, stronger attacker. Wing Tsun focuses on simplicity, efficiency, and directness of movements, aiming to neutralise and control opponents through deflection, redirection, and simultaneous striking.
The development of Wing Tsun continued in Fatshan, China, before finding its way to Hong Kong. Under the guidance of renowned Wing Chun master Yip Man, the system became popularised and spread to the masses. Yip Man's most famous student, Bruce Lee, went on to develop his own martial arts style, Jeet Kune Do, which was heavily influenced by Wing Chun.
