The Home of Wild Dogs Rugby is a sports club located in London, established in 2017. They are a rugby family that aims to spread their love for the game by participating in competitions that are beloved by fans. Their mission is to build a global community driven by family, sportsmanship, teamwork, culture, and enjoyment both on and off the rugby field.
The Wild Dogs represent a diverse group of players from over 20 countries, including many players from the home nations. However, they have strong traditions and roots that originate from Southern Africa. They are a distinctive team that can be easily recognised by their signature Ndebele patterned kit. The Wild Dogs are known for their dogged yet skilful and entertaining brand of rugby.
Their journey began in 2017 when they were invited by the European Beach Rugby Association (EBRA) to represent South Africa in the final leg of the European Beach Rugby Series in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy. In their first season, they achieved great success both on and off the sand, winning 12 out of 15 matches and earning the support of thousands of spectators. Their popularity on the circuit led to an invitation to compete in the 2018 series, where they took part in three out of six legs, held in the UK, France, and Italy respectively. They secured two podium finishes, ultimately claiming 5th place overall out of the 49 teams that participated.
Building on their success, the Wild Dogs expanded their tournament fixtures over the following years to include more formats of the game, namely 7s and 10s Rugby. Today, they compete all over the world at multiple levels ranging from Vets rugby to Social, Open, and Elite levels.
The Home of Wild Dogs Rugby has a comprehensive fixtures list that includes various tournaments and competitions in different countries. Some of their highlighted fixtures for 2023 are Dubai 7s in the United Arab Emirates, Rugby Town 7s in the United States of America, Lignano Sabiadorro Beach Rugby in Italy, and the Super Sevens Series in the United Kingdom.
