Founded over 50 years ago, Holy Name Football Club is a vibrant and well-run Chartered Standard Club based in Great Barr, Birmingham. The club prides itself on its long-standing history and commitment to developing young players in the community.

Chairwoman Caroline Henderson, who has been with the club since 1998, leads the dedicated team of volunteers. Having worked as an FA Level 2 Manager for both the girls' and boys' teams, Caroline became Chairwoman in 2018 to give back her experience and expertise. Under her leadership, Holy Name Football Club has continued to thrive and provide opportunities for children to learn and play football in a safe and friendly environment.

The club boasts fully FA Qualified and DBS cleared managers who volunteer their time to coach children from under 6 years to under 16 years. These coaches ensure that players learn essential football skills and have the opportunity to participate in weekly matches. Holy Name Football Club believes in the importance of parental support and encourages parents to be actively involved in their child's football journey.

Every Saturday morning from 10:30am to 12noon, the club holds its renowned Soccer School at Redhouse Park, Great Barr. This school is open to boys and girls aged 5 to 11 years and serves as a pathway for them to join the club's various teams, which range from U7 to U18. The Soccer School operates on a pay-as-you-play basis, with a cash payment of 3 per session. It is essential for children to arrive in appropriate clothing, including boots or football trainers and shin pads.

Refreshments are also available for purchase during the sessions.

Holy Name Football Club takes great pride in its coaching team. All coaches possess the necessary FA certificates, First Aid qualifications, and DBS checks to ensure the safety and well-being of the children in their care. The club values professionalism and aims to provide a nurturing environment for every player.

In May 2021, Holy Name Football Club received accreditation from England Football, The FA's new home for participation and grassroots football. This accreditation reflects the club's commitment to creating the best places to play and enjoy the game. Holy Name Football Club is dedicated to evolving alongside this prestigious kitemark, with the support of the national and local football communities.

In conclusion, Holy Name Football Club is not just a team; it is a thriving and inclusive club that provides children with the opportunity to develop their football skills in a safe and supportive environment. With a dedicated coaching team, excellent facilities, and a rich history, Holy Name Football Club continues to make a significant impact on the local community and the development of young footballers in Birmingham.
