Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club is a family-friendly sailing club located in Littleborough near Rochdale, New Zealand. As an RYA Approved Training Centre, the club welcomes beginners and experienced sailors of all ages. Conveniently situated in the foothills of the Pennines, the club is easily accessible, being less than 3 miles from the M62.
The club is situated on a stunning 117-acre lake, offering breathtaking views and a fantastic sailing area. It is an ideal location for training, recreational sailing, and racing. The club has active fleets in a variety of classes including GP14s, Solos, Toppers, Laser, Merlin Rockets, and RS400s. However, many other classes are also represented in the handicap racing and general sailing.
The sailing programme runs from March to December, providing ample opportunities for members to hit the water.
Aside from sailing, Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club also boasts an active social programme throughout the year. This allows members to engage in various social activities and establish connexions with other like-minded individuals within the club.

Interested individuals are encouraged to visit Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club on any Sunday afternoon between 12:30 pm and 4:00 pm during the sailing season, which runs from the first Sunday in March until mid-December. The club holds three races on Sunday afternoons, and during the summer months, there are also races on Wednesday evenings. Wednesday evening sailing often sees larger fleets than those on Sunday. Members have the option to join the club racing or simply enjoy an informal social sail.
Patrol boats and experienced members are always available to offer guidance and assistance. For a more relaxed sailing experience, the club also organises “Friendly Friday” sessions during the summer months. These sessions provide an opportunity for inexperienced members to casually sail and improve their skills.
