Are you the owner of Historical European Martial Arts?

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Historical European Martial Arts at Fiore dei Liberi Corso Scherma Hema in Rome. Our medieval fencing course is not just a mere study program to learn the ancient European martial arts, but a journey that will lead you to participate in the most prestigious tournaments in Italy and abroad, both in reenactment and HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) settings. Designed to offer men and women of all backgrounds the chance to delve into this ancient art, our program covers a range of techniques, from two-handed swords to sword and buckler, dagger, sword and shield, spear and partisan, and armored combat on horseback.
Drawing inspiration from medieval and Renaissance treatises by German and Italian masters, our fencing course focuses on combat techniques executed with both bare hands and metal reproductions of historical weapons. We aim to stay true to the roots of European martial arts, distancing ourselves from influences of Eastern martial arts and modern fencing. Beyond two-handed sword techniques, students also study a variety of medieval weapons, such as sword and shield, dagger, sword and buckler, and polearms.
Our annual medieval fencing course runs from the early autumn months (October) to summer (June), with students welcome to join at any time throughout the year. With locations in Milan, Rome, Massa, and other Italian cities, our school currently boasts over a hundred students exploring and mastering the art of medieval fencing daily. Join us at Fiore dei Liberi Corso Scherma Hema and unlock a world where history and martial arts collide to create a unique, enriching experience for all. Buon allenamento! 🤺🛡️
