The Hills Knights Football Club is a community-based not-for-profit sports club that has been operating in Baulkham Hills, part of the Hills Shire in New South Wales, for over 45 years. Founded in 1974 by parents of the nearby St Michaels Primary School, the club has grown to become one of the largest clubs in the Hills Football Association, with approximately 1100 registered players in 2023.
The main objective of the club is to provide a positive playing environment for all ages and abilities, with a strong emphasis on participation, enjoyment, and fairness. The club believes in fostering community and family values, ensuring that all players feel welcomed and supported in their soccer journey.
Hills Knights FC is affiliated with the Hills Football Inc (HFI) competition, offering teams for both girls/ladies and boys/men of all ages and skill levels. From under 5 to over 45, there is a team for everyone at the club. The club prides itself on providing opportunities for players to develop their skills and passion for the game.
Coaches and managers at Hills Knights FC are committed to providing the best training and education for all of their teams. The club recognised the importance of well-trained coaches in the development of young players and strives to support their growth through various coaching programmes.
Hills Knights Football Club also runs an Instructional Referees programme for members who are 12 years old and above. This programme aims to educate and train young referees, providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills to officiate matches effectively.
For those in need of soccer gear, the club's online shop is the go-to destination. From jerseys to boots, fans can find everything they need to support their passion for the game. With easy ordering and competitive prices, the shop ensures that players have everything they need to perform at their best.
Being a community-based club, Hills Knights Football Club relies heavily on the support of volunteers. The club's committee, made up of players and parents/carers, is responsible for the administration and management of the club. Without the assistance of volunteers, the club would not be able to function. Volunteers are essential for various tasks such as field set-up, BBQ, and canteen duties during game days, and general support throughout the season.
The club encourages all members of the community to get involved and lend a helping hand to ensure the smooth running of the club.
David Gutwenger serves as the President of Hills Knights Football Club, providing leadership and guidance to the committee and the club as a whole.
As a proud supporter of the club, Hills Knights Football Club is honoured to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connexions to the land, sea, and community. The club respects the Elders past and present and extends that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
With a rich history of community involvement and a commitment to providing a positive playing environment, Hills Knights Football Club welcomes players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters to be a part of their inclusive and passionate soccer community.
