Herts Tai Chi, located in Kings Langley, is a well-established school dedicated to the practise and teachings of Tai Chi. With a focus on Traditional Yang Style Tai Chi and Chi Gung, the school welcomes students of all ages and fitness levels.
Led by instructor Michael Richards, a disciple of Master John Ding, 7th generation traditional Yang style, Herts Tai Chi offers a comprehensive range of classes and workshops. Whether you prefer individual instruction, group settings, or even corporate or team building sessions, Herts Tai Chi caters to your needs.
The school places great emphasis on providing high-quality teaching that allows students to develop a strong foundation in the basics of Tai Chi. As students progress, they have the opportunity to delve into the subtle aspects of Tai Chi's energy work. Through regular contact and learning with experienced Tai Chi masters, such as Master John Ding and Master Dong, students can fully grasp the profound principles and truths of Tai Chi.
The benefits of Tai Chi practise are well-known, addressing key components of stress such as muscle tension, lack of strength, stiffness, body balance, and lifestyle balance. In the weekly classes offered, students can transform their stressful state into a relaxed and energised state. After a full day's practise, a state of "energised stillness” becomes possible.
Herts Tai Chi offers a variety of regular classes throughout the week. Monday evenings are dedicated to Tai Chi Traditional Yang Style Long Form, with a Foundation Form class followed by a Long Form class. Tuesday afternoons feature Chi Gung, a powerful and gentle exercise practise aimed at relaxing the body and quietening the mind. Thursday evenings focus on Traditional Yang Style Tai Chi, including a Foundation Form class for beginners and a session dedicated to Push Hands and two-person practise.
Friday afternoons offer the opportunity to learn the Golden Flower Short Form. In addition to these classes, Herts Tai Chi can also arrange corporate classes or one-to-one teaching outside regular hours.
For those unable to attend in-person classes, Herts Tai Chi also offers Zoom classes. These online learning opportunities provide students with the convenience of learning from the comfort of their own homes. Zoom classes are available on Tuesdays from 10am to 11am.
To stay up to date with the latest news and offerings from Herts Tai Chi, interested individuals can subscribe to the school's newsletter. The occasional newsletter provides information on upcoming classes, workshops, and events.
With a dedication to teaching and sharing his knowledge gained over 30 years of practise, Michael Richards and Herts Tai Chi continue to inspire and guide students on their Tai Chi journey.
