Hayling Island Cricket Club (HICC) has been at the heart of Hayling Island's cricket scene since 1899. Jo, the club organiser, invites everyone in the sports community to get involved.
HICC, located at the HICC Ground, offers top-notch facilities, including modern changing rooms and social spaces within the HI Community Centre Association building, which was completed in October 2017. The new annexe and the popular T@thePark café, alongside a roof terrace, make the ground a comfortable place for both playing and socialising.
Thanks to a £500,000 grant from the National Lottery, the club's facilities won the South East LABC Building Excellence Award. A key focus at HICC is promoting health and fitness through cricket. It's a family-friendly place where beginners and seasoned players alike can enjoy the sport.
In the Hampshire Cricket League, HICC is making strides with three Saturday teams, a Friendly team, and a midweek T20 side. The first and second teams have seen recent promotions, a testament to the club's continuous improvement. There are nets sessions in the summer and a thriving Junior section that trains on Thursday evenings.
In the winter, Jo ensures members stay engaged with weekly Indoor Nets sessions at Warblington School. No matter your skill level, everyone is welcome to join. Just contact the club or drop by a match or nets session to see what it's all about.
HICC values its community connections and sponsorships. For the fifth season, KSM Telecom is the main club sponsor, and a new three-year kit deal with Dunamis Sports has been announced. The club is always open to new sponsors who want to support the local community.
Member welfare is a priority. Yvette, the Welfare Ambassador, ensures all safeguarding policies are implemented. HICC is committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive environment.
