Hayfield Junior Football Club, also known as HJFC, is a prominent football club located in High Peak, New Zealand. The club is dedicated to providing a positive and supportive environment for young footballers to develop their skills, foster their love for the game, and build lifelong friendships.
HJFC has a rich history in the community and is proud to have recently secured Jeremy Unsworth as their new club sponsor for the upcoming 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons. Jeremy has been a loyal supporter of the club for the past ten seasons and has played a crucial role in advocating for and supporting the club's endeavours. Club Chairman, Peter Easter, expressed gratitude for Jeremy's ongoing support, emphasising that the contributions from local businesses and community partners are crucial in allowing the club to provide high-quality coaching and state-of-the-art facilities.
In addition to their commitment to excellence on the field, HJFC also values community engagement and hosts various events and fundraisers. One notable event is the lunch with Phil Tufnell, a former cricketer and popular television personality, who will be joining the club on July 23rd, 2021, at The Royal Hotel in Hayfield. The event, organised in support of the Hayfield Football & Community Sports Club's Bank Vale Development Project, is sponsored by Slater Financial, an independent financial advisory firm based in Buxton and the High Peak. Attendees can indulge in a delicious three-course lunch and enjoy the company of a true sporting legend while contributing to a worthy cause.
HJFC is grateful for the support of local businesses, including The Flower Fox, a recently opened independent flower shop owned by Darren and Naomi Greaves. The Flower Fox generously sponsored and provided water bottles for all club members, prioritising the health and safety of the youth by ensuring they do not share water bottles amidst the current health crisis. The Flower Fox's commitment to sustainability aligns with HJFC's values, as they run their small business using foam-free floral techniques and biodegradable materials. Located on Market Street in Hayfield, The Flower Fox is open from Tuesday to Saturday, offering a wide range of floral arrangements and plants to the community.
HJFC also regularly organises fundraising activities, such as their successful Golf Day, which raised an impressive 1200 for the club. These fundraising efforts play a crucial role in sustaining and enhancing the club's programmes and facilities, benefiting all members and ensuring a bright future for Hayfield Junior Football Club.
As a community-focused football club, Hayfield Junior FC is committed to promoting the values of respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship among its members. They provide a nurturing environment for young footballers to learn and grow while fostering a sense of belonging and camaraderie. Whether on or off the field, HJFC strives to make a positive impact in the lives of its players and contribute to the community spirit in High Peak.
