Lucy Hawthorne, organiser of the Hawthorne School Of Dance (HSOD), has a message for the sports community. Located in Windsor, HSOD offers a range of engaging dance classes, enjoyed by dancers of all ages.
HSOD is a natural progression from Windsor's well-loved pre-school dance classes, Blossom Ballet, welcoming dancers from age 4. The school specialises in ISTD Ballet, Tap, and Modern dance, and also offers Ballet Conditioning and Contemporary dance classes.
Lucy aims to nurture happy and healthy dancers who enjoy weekly classes during term time with their friends and families. With a BA Hons DDE ISTD degree and extensive experience in dance, Lucy graduated from the London Studio Centre, has delivered workshops at The English National Ballet, taught Street Dance for London Youth Dance, and served as an Associate Dance Artist for Sadlers Wells.
Emily Headland, another talented teacher at HSOD, specialises in Modern, Tap, and junior Ballet. She also runs her own dance school in Amersham and has participated in numerous local productions. Emily loves sharing her performance skills with aspiring dancers at HSOD.
Alice Spencer, a passionate instructor at HSOD, teaches junior and senior Ballet classes, along with cheerleading and contemporary dance at local schools. Inspired by her Grandmother, who danced with the Royal Ballet, Alice holds a DDI ISTD diploma and has won several dance competitions, including the UDO World Street Dance Competition. She has even represented Great Britain in the Cheerleading World Championships in Florida.
At HSOD, the focus is on developing technical skills, as well as promoting confidence, discipline, musicality, and a passion for dance. The well-structured timetable includes classes from Pre-Primary to Advanced levels in ISTD Ballet, Modern, and Tap.
HSOD also provides opportunities for dancers to take part in local performances and ISTD exams, giving them the chance to showcase their talent and progress. This enriches their dance experience and helps foster their potential.
