Hawkesbury Valley Physie is a physical fitness programme located in Bligh Park, New South Wales. With a focus on promoting good posture, flexibility, core body strength, coordination, rhythm, self-esteem, and team spirit, Hawkesbury Valley Physie offers a unique competitive sport experience for girls and ladies aged 3 and above.
Combining aspects of ballet, dance, and choreographed exercises set to modern music, Physie is a glamorous and unique sport known as Edith Parsons Physical Culture. Members are taught a new age-appropriate syllabus of routines each year, based on basic ballet and modern dance techniques. These routines can be performed individually or as part of a team, allowing members to showcase their skills and increase their self-confidence.
Physie classes are open to girls of all ages, starting from 3 years old. As they progress through the age groups, girls have the opportunity to compete in non-compulsory individual and team competitions according to their age. This not only enhances their self-confidence but also allows them to form new friendships and experience the joys of teamwork.
For girls aged 3–4 years, participation in Physie is non-competitive, focusing on skill development and enjoyment. Girls aged 5–16 years compete according to their age group. Senior classes are available for members aged 17 and above, with different levels such as 1st-year intermediate seniors, 2nd-year intermediate seniors, and open seniors. Ladies classes are also offered, ranging from extended ladies to advanced ladies, catering to different age groups and experience levels.
The classes take place every Wednesday from February to November at the Bligh Park Community Centre - Tiningi Hall. The hall is located at 139 Colonial Drive in Bligh Park, NSW 2756. Class times vary depending on the age group, with highly qualified instructors guiding the sessions. It is important for all members to respect and embrace the role of each teacher, as they may interchange and provide feedback and guidance across different age groups.
Please note that class times may be subject to change based on the number of participants. It is recommended to stay updated through the club's social media platforms for any changes and registration dates.
