The HNBAA is excited to announce a local fishing event that is sure to reel in the interest of all passionate anglers in Sydney. This event is a fantastic opportunity for all members of the fishing community to come together and showcase their skills in catching the elusive Australian Bass.
Since its establishment in 1996, the HNBAA has strived to create a community of dedicated individuals who are not only passionate about fishing but also deeply committed to the conservation and preservation of the Australian Bass, scientifically known as “Macquaria Novemaculeata”. Through our monthly meetings, engaging competitions, and various social events, we not only raise funds but also collect valuable data to support the protection of this magnificent native fish.
We pride ourselves in promoting sustainable fishing practices, which is why catch and release scenarios are strongly encouraged in all our competition meets. We firmly believe in the importance of preserving our fish populations for future generations to enjoy. As such, we primarily focus on lure and fly-fishing in all our competitions.
But our dedication to the fishing community doesn't stop there. We actively participate in fish re-stocking programs across various waterways in Australia. By replenishing the fish populations, we play a vital role in maintaining the ecological balance of our aquatic environments.
The highlight of our fishing calendar is the annual club competition events, which consist of 9 thrilling contests. Six of these events are centred around Bass fishing, while the remaining three are focused on Bream. Our members also have the opportunity to participate in other fishing tournaments and ProBass events organised by different organisations throughout the year, thanks to their membership with HNBAA.
We understand the importance of nurturing the next generation of anglers, which is why we proudly organise Junior Camps. These camps provide the perfect platform for young fishing enthusiasts to develop their skills under the guidance of experienced mentors. It's our way of ensuring that the legacy of fishing is passed down to future generations.
So, if you're an avid angler looking for a community of like-minded individuals who share your passion for fishing and conservation, look no further than the Hawkesbury Nepean Bass Anglers Association. Join us for an unforgettable fishing event that promises to be a thrilling experience for all involved.
