Sue Johnstone, the organiser at the Havelock North Bridge Club, wants to share a quick note with the sports community. Based at Guthrie Park on 51 Brookvale Road, Havelock North, the club offers a great spot for anyone keen on bridge.
Bridge, a game that's been around for centuries and evolved with Harold Vanderbilt's rules in 1925, is now a fun and intriguing card game. The club is a great place to learn, whether you're a newbie or have a bit of experience. They run lessons all year, and bridge is perfect for all ages, making it a brilliant way to keep the mind sharp and meet new people.

For those who want to dive into the club atmosphere, drop by – visitors, returning members, and social players are all welcome. No partner? No worries. The club's convenors are on hand to help you find one.
Playing sessions are quite flexible, with regular slots on Monday evenings, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, Friday mornings, and Sunday afternoons. Just check the session times and get in touch with the convenors for more info.
The club runs smoothly thanks to its dedicated team, with Sue as President, Denise Ohlen as Vice President, Ann Ryan as Secretary, and Phillipa Fisher as Treasurer. The committee, including Gaye Robertson, Keiron Myatt, Lana Davey, Bronwen Evans, and Graham Potter, keeps things ticking along. Rachele Bertoldi is the go-to Almoner.
