Hatch End Swim School, run by the friendly Jenkins family, is all about making swimming fun and accessible for everyone in Pinner. Whether you’re a little one just starting out or an adult looking to improve, they've got you covered.
For kids, classes happen on Friday afternoons at Hatch End Swimming Pool, from 4pm to 8pm. They've got fun classes like Seal Cubs for children aged 3 and up, with an awesome 1:4 teacher-child ratio. If your school-aged child is just starting to swim, there’s the Beginners class with a 1:8 ratio, teaching them how to swim up to 10m.
Once they’re swimming 10m on their own, they can join First Improvers, and for those smashing 50m, there’s Deep Water Improvers focusing on stroke techniques. Advanced swimmers doing over 100m also have their own advanced lengths classes at 6:30 and 7:00 pm.
Adults, you’re not left out! There are lessons on Friday evenings for beginners to advanced swimmers, plus training sessions at Hatch End Pool and South Oxhey Leisure Centre on Sundays, great for fitness and triathletes.
All lessons last 30 minutes and follow the term-time schedule. The Jenkins are always ready to help parents choose the right class and support children’s progression with guidance and a waiting list if needed.
Parents, you’ll get all the info you need about what to bring, including goggle requirements and procedural details. While you can watch your kids, please remember no photos or videos. If you want to chat with teachers, just arrange a time.
Kids get badges and certificates to celebrate their achievements, and the school’s history adds a nostalgic charm, being part of the old Royal Commercial Travellers School site.
The Jenkins have built Hatch End Swim School into a top spot for learning to swim, focusing on fitness and life skills, and they welcome swimmers of all ages and abilities with open arms.
