Hardwicke Rangers YFC, based in Gloucester, is a renowned football club with a rich history and strong commitment to youth development. Established in 1990 by Sue Dawe and Caroline Reed, the club started with a simple advert in a local magazine that attracted children to come and play. With the support of Mr. Coaker of Careway removals, who generously donated funds for their first kit, the club entered its first team in the under 12's Gloucester League.
As the club gained recognition, it caught the attention of Hardwicke Rangers AFC, leading to the formation of the first committee, chaired by George Powers. Thus, Hardwicke Rangers Youth Football Club was born. Over the years, the club has experienced exponential growth, now boasting close to 300 members, both boys and girls, aged between 5 and 18.
Striving to provide an exceptional standard of coaching and support for players and managers, Hardwicke Rangers YFC was awarded the FA Charter Standard, a prestigious recognition of their commitment to excellence on and off the field. To maintain these high standards, the club is guided by an executive committee of dedicated volunteers, who meet monthly to ensure the continuous growth and development of the club.
The club's home is fondly known as “The Rob Dawe Memorial Close,” named after the late Chairman, Rob Dawe, who passed away in 2014. The facilities are continuously being improved and expanded, with changing rooms, a shower block, and a meeting room, creating an environment that enables players to thrive.
In 2016, Hardwicke Rangers YFC received the honour of being named the GFA Chartered Standard Club of the Year, a testament to their dedication and passion for the sport. With a strong focus on the welfare of their players, the club has a designated Welfare Officer, Claire, who can be contacted confidentially on any concerns.
The club also boasts a well-stocked Club Shop, offering a variety of kit items in the club's vibrant colours. From hoodies to socks, all at reasonable prices, these items can even be personalised with initials. Kit supplies are provided through ZAPKAM, the club's trusted partners.
