CLUB HISTORY Harbour Rugby Football Club was established in 1992 following the merger of the Port Chalmers and Ravensbourne Clubs, both of which had celebrated their centennials in the 1980s. Throughout the years, our teams have seen immense success, with our leading team reaching the extra time final against University A. In recent years, we have been semi-finalists in 2015 and 2016, and finalists in 2017.
Our club proudly participates in various grades, including leading, senior, senior reserve, second grade, premier colts, junior colts, and women's teams. We prioritise playing bright, open, and enjoyable rugby.
With two exceptional clubhouses located at Watson Park in Port Chalmers and Moller Park in Ravensbourne, we offer top-notch changing facilities and strive to create a lively and fun atmosphere for after-match functions. We extend a warm welcome to all new members.
Harbour Rugby Football Club boasts an impressive list of notable players, including four All Blacks, Jeff Wilson, Tony Brown, Waisake Naholo, and George Bower, as well as Black Fern Fiona King. Our club also includes numerous Highlanders, Otago Mitre 10 Cup, NZ U20, and Otago representative players across all grades, including a significant number of women.

We are excited to announce that Harbour Rugby Club will be offering educational scholarships for the upcoming year. With sponsorship funding, we have three tiers of scholarships available, ranging from $500 to $1500. Scholarship recipients will also receive a free gym membership, gym programming, and regular one-on-one mentoring. Applications are open to all players from outside the club who wish to play for the Hawks.
