Quick note from Erin Gamble, the organiser at Hamilton Koryukan. Just wanted to give a heads-up to our fantastic sports community 🥋
Hamilton Koryukan, located right in the heart of Hamilton on Rifle Range Road, has been sharing the love for martial arts for over 20 years now. We're super keen to train kids, teens, and adults in Koryu Uchinadi karate and Kobudo.
Erin really believes in tackling modern problems with classical solutions. We love asking those curious "why" questions and diving into different approaches, thanks to Erin’s rich background in Ryukyu Kempo, Taekwon Do, New Zealand Karate Academy, and Brazilian Jujitsu.

We've got an awesome team here:
- Erin Gamble, our head instructor, has been at this since '92 and holds a 4th Dan black belt.
- David Harris, with a 2nd Dan black belt, runs classes for both kids and adults.
- Roger Taylor, a Yudan black belt, focuses on the kids' classes.
Apart from karate, we also dive into Kobudo, teaching traditional Okinawan weaponry. Students get hands-on with bo, canes, sai, tonfa, kama, bokken, tinbe & rochin, and eku. 🥋⚔️
Our doors are open to all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re just starting out or have been practising for years, we’d love to have you join us for a unique experience.
