Hamilton Amateur Athletic Association Grounds

The Hamilton Amateur Athletic Association Grounds, known as HAAA, is a 7-acre community park situated in the Kirkendall Neighborhood of Hamilton, Ontario. Located on the north side of Charlton Avenue West, just east of Locke St, the park is a hub for recreation and outdoor activities in the area. Home to the Hamilton Tennis Club, the park offers a range of amenities and features for residents and visitors to enjoy.

With a rich history in Hamilton sports, the HAAA Grounds has been a significant site for various sports clubs and events over the years. From the Hamilton Cricket Club to the Hamilton Rugby (Football) Club, the park has seen its fair share of sporting achievements. In 1945, the City's Parks Board purchased the grounds and initiated a transformation to cater to the community's needs for open space and recreational activities. The park underwent several developments to enhance its offerings, including the addition of a football/soccer field, a clay track, trail systems, and a brick clubhouse with washroom and shower facilities.

To ensure the continued enjoyment of the HAAA Grounds, a Renewal Plan is set to be implemented in 2024. This plan, developed after extensive public consultation in 2020-2021, aims to replace aging park features and maintain the park's significance in the community. The park currently offers amenities such as a spray pad, a play structure, and open green spaces for sports and leisure activities.
