Session where we assess their swimming ability. This assessment session also gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about joining a squad.
Hamble Aquatics Swim Team (HAST) is a friendly and competitive swimming club based in Hamble, Southampton. The club is open to swimmers of all capabilities, from beginners to national competitors. With a focus on helping swimmers fulfil their maximum potential, Hamble Aquatics has a proven track record of success at all levels, including Hampshire County ASA, ASA South East Regional, and National competitions.
Established in 1997, Hamble Aquatics is a dynamic and energetic club with approximately 55 swimmers. The club's head coach, Amy Rodger, took 11 swimmers aged 16 and over to Club La Santa in Lanzarote in July 2022 to celebrate their achievements and provide them with a final training camp before many of them go off to university. Assistant Coach Phil Wilson joined Amy for a week of activities, recovery classes, and training.
One of the key ethos of Hamble Aquatics is treating each swimmer as an individual while fostering a strong sense of team spirit. Despite being a relatively small club, the support and camaraderie among swimmers and parents play a crucial role in the club's success. The club predominantly uses the swimming pool at Hamble Sport College, with some squads also training at Bitterne Leisure Centre on Friday mornings and Saturday evenings.
In addition to Head Coach Amy Rodger and Assistant Coach Phil Wilson, Hamble Aquatics is supported by coaches Peter-Michael Ings and Lucy Sinclair. The club prioritises quality focused coaching to ensure that every swimmer can reach their full potential while also making sure to incorporate some fun into the process.
To join one of Hamble Aquatics' competitive squads, prospective swimmers are required to attend an assessment session where their swimming ability will be evaluated. This session also provides an opportunity for parents to ask any questions they may have about joining a squad. The club looks forward to hearing from those interested in joining and embarking on a swimming journey with Team Hamble.
