Halifax Canoe Club, based in Sowerby Bridge, Halifax, is a lively and family-focused club situated on the beautiful River Calder. Offering a variety of activities for paddlers of all levels, the club takes pride in its multi-award-winning status for exceptional coaching and exciting trips throughout the year.

Beginners can start with the club's beginners' courses, held either on the river or in the pool, depending on the season. These courses provide a safe space for newcomers to learn the basics of canoeing and kayaking.

Located in the heart of Sowerby Bridge, members have access to both flat water and a man-made white water course on the River Calder. Whether you enjoy the calmness of flat water or the thrill of white water rapids, Halifax Canoe Club offers both.

While kayaking is the main focus, including both flat water and white water paddling, members can also try playboating (freestyle), slalom, open canoe paddling, and even surfing.
