Welcome to the official website of the Halifax Track, a premier outdoor RC racing facility located in Halifax, UK. Boasting over 40 years of history, this Yorkshire-based Radio Control Model Car Racing Club has solidified its reputation as one of the top RC circuits for on-road model cars in the country.
Situated on the outskirts of Halifax in West Vale, Greetland, the Halifax Track offers superior facilities compared to its previous central Halifax location. This esteemed track has drawn international attention over the years by hosting prestigious events such as the 1/10th 200 mm Euro A's and the 1/8th & 1/10th 235 mm Euro races.
With a track length of 280m and a width of 5m, the Halifax Track accommodates on-road cars ranging in size from 1/5th scale to 1/18th scale. In 2007, the track underwent a full resurfacing, resulting in enhanced grip and reduced lap times. To ensure precise timing, the track is equipped with a fully automatic timing system, backed by a computer running bbk software and a twin timing loop. It accepts popular personal transponders such as AMB and MRT.
For the convenience of our members, we also have an on-site café that offers a wide range of food and refreshments during race meetings. As a member of the Halifax Track, you will have exclusive access to the track for a significant portion of the year. Engine running is permitted from 9am to 8pm within the track and paddock perimeter. However, it is vital to adhere to our policy of strictly prohibiting engine starts outside these designated areas.
Please note that during BRCA meetings, the track is exclusively reserved for BRCA members who comply with the BRCA's rules. To participate in these meetings, BRCA membership is necessary. Every member holds the privilege to cast their vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and attend any committee meetings held in our clubhouse on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
Regarding safety regulations, we kindly inform our members that the pit lane is off-limits to those under the age of 14. Additionally, members under the age of 16 are not permitted to marshal or retrieve cars from the track. To ensure the well-being of all participants, it is mandatory for every member to hold BRCA insurance, which is included in BRCA membership.
Should the need arise, the Calderdale General Hospital, located approximately 2 miles away from the track, serves as the main medical facility in Halifax.
