Welcome to Halfway & District Bowling Club, located in Mill Road, Halfway, Glasgow. Since its formation in 1913, the club has established itself as a hub for bowling enthusiasts and has achieved numerous successes in Burgh, County, and National Championships. With a rich history, the club welcomes members of all ages and skill levels, offering a friendly and inclusive environment.
Membership at Halfway & District Bowling Club is open to all, and individuals can easily download a membership form from our website or collect one from the club itself. New members enjoy half price fees in their first year, and kids memberships are free, promoting accessibility and encouraging participation. Regardless of experience and ability, new players are warmly welcomed, and the club is happy to lend bowls until players can acquire their own. To aid in skill development, the club has appointed experienced coaches who provide basic tuition.
The bowling season at Halfway & District Bowling Club runs from April to September. During this time, the club hosts frequent competitions, creating opportunities for players to showcase their skill and interact with fellow bowlers. As an active participant in various associations and leagues, the club competes under Bowls Scotland District 19, Rutherglen & District Bowling Association, Lanarkshire Bowling Association, West of Scotland Women's Bowling Association, and Lanarkshire Women's Bowling Association ties.
The gents teams compete in the Lanarkshire Leagues (Divisions 3 & 10), while the ladies take part in the Cambuslang & District Top Ten.
Halfway & District Bowling Club offers more than just bowling. With social evenings featuring live entertainment every Saturday night, non-members are warmly welcomed to join in the festivities. Additionally, the club's main hall and lounge are available for private function hire, creating the perfect setting for special occasions.
