Gympie Basketball Association understands the importance of providing opportunities for basketball enthusiasts of all ages. With a range of programs catering to different age groups and divisions, they strive to create an inclusive and enjoyable environment for players.

For young, aspiring basketballers, the Gympie Hoops program is the perfect starting point. This program is specifically designed for U10 mixed players and takes place every Monday at 3.45pm at The Pavilion. It provides a fun and supportive atmosphere where children can develop their skills and passion for the game.

If you're looking for some competitive action, Division 1 Boys games are held on Mondays at 4.40pm, 5.30pm, and 6.20pm at The Pavilion. For those in Division 2, games are scheduled on Wednesdays at 5.30pm, 6.20pm, and 7.10pm at Gympie High. Division 3 Boys games also take place on Wednesdays, with game times at 4pm, 4.50pm, and 5.40pm at The Pavilion. Additionally, Division 1 and Division 2 Girls games are set to take place on Tuesdays at The Pavilion, though exact game times are still to be confirmed.

For players eager to join these competitions, the season will kick off on the week beginning 22 January, following the school break. The first two weeks will consist of grading games to determine team levels, making sure that everyone competes at an appropriate level.

There is one important change starting from Season 1, 2024. Junior players will be required to purchase a reversible club singlet and playing shorts at a one-time cost of $80. This cost is included in the registration fee for Season 1, ensuring that players have the necessary uniform to compete in accordance with Basketball Queensland uniform standards. Each uniform will be individually numbered and will be distributed to registered players during the Junior grading weeks starting on 22 January 2024.

Lastly, to prioritise the participation and enjoyment of all players, the Gympie Basketball Association implements the mercy rule (defensive restriction) in all domestic junior competitions. This ensures a fair and balanced playing field, allowing every participant to fully enjoy the game.
