The Gymnastics NSW High Performance Centre (NSW HPC) is a high-performance programme located in Rooty Hill, New South Wales. Created in partnership with Gymnastics NSW (GNSW), the NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS), Sydney Gymnastics Centre (SGAC), and Gymnastics Australia (GA), the NSW HPC is specifically designed to nurture and develop international elite gymnasts.
The primary objective of the NSW HPC is to identify and cultivate gymnastic talents through a high-performance pathway. Athletes from across New South Wales are recruited to participate in intensive training programmes under the guidance of a team of expert coaches. Training hours can range from 4 to 30 hours per week, allowing gymnasts to fully dedicate themselves to their craft.
The NSW HPC offers several specialised programmes to cater to different age groups and skill levels. One such programme is the Beyond 2024 Development squad, which serves as a talent identification programme for children aged 6 to 10. This programme focuses on enhancing movement, aerial awareness, strength, flexibility, and skill acquisition, providing a solid foundation for future athletic pursuits in any sport.
For gymnasts aged 7 to 14, the Junior Emerging Squad offers a comprehensive programme that maximises opportunities for strength, speed, and power development, while also emphasising skill acquisition essential to elite gymnastics. With training hours ranging from 16 to 24 hours per week and 5 to 9 training sessions, participants in this programme can develop their gymnastic abilities to their fullest potential.
The Emerging and Senior Squads, geared towards gymnasts at the Level 9 level and above, operate in a collaborative environment, with a primary focus on Junior and Senior International programmes. With a rigorous training schedule of 24 to 30 hours per week and 6 to 9 training sessions, this programme challenges athletes to strive for excellence and reach their true potential.
Located at the Sydney Gymnastics & Aquatic Centre (SGAC), the NSW HPC is easily accessible by both car and public transport.
