Gurteen College, located in Ballingarry, is a renowned institution established in 1947, dedicated to providing top-quality education and training in the agricultural sector. Nestled in the picturesque countryside of North Tipperary, the campus spans over 386 hectares of farmland, offering students an exceptional outdoor learning environment to enhance their practical skills and deepen their understanding of farming and countryside management.
The diverse farm at Gurteen College includes 240 dairy cows, 70 suckler cows, over 100 beef finishing animals, a 450 ewe sheep flock, 32 hectares of short rotation coppice willow, and 40 hectares of tillage crops. The farm also features forestry, broad-leaved native woodland, bog, and a lough, along with an extensive network of hedgerows, providing a rich and varied natural habitat for students to explore.
Gurteen College offers a range of courses for students passionate about agriculture and rural life, from Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture to Level 8 Honours Degree in Agricultural Science and Sustainability.
