Under Meitatsu Yagi, 10th dan. Sensei Matthews is committed to upholding the traditional teachings of Okinawa Goju-ryu Karate and passing on his knowledge to his students.
Sensei Aaron Stagg 5th Degree Black Belt Sensei Stagg began his journey in martial arts at the age of 5, studying various styles including Shotokan karate, Tae Kwon Do, and Kickboxing. He found his passion for Goju-Ryu Karate when he began training under Sensei Mark Matthews at the Guelph Budokan Centre of Martial Arts. Sensei Stagg quickly progressed through the ranks and now holds the rank of 5th degree black belt in Okinawa Goju-ryu Karate. His dedication to the art and his students is evident in his teaching style, focusing on proper technique, discipline, and respect.
Sensei Lauren Kelly 4th Degree Black Belt Sensei Kelly has been training in martial arts for over 15 years, with a background in kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Muay Thai. She found her home in Goju-Ryu Karate at the Guelph Budokan Centre of Martial Arts and has earned her 4th degree black belt. Sensei Kelly brings a unique perspective to her teaching, incorporating her knowledge from various martial arts styles to enhance her students' understanding and skills.
Sensei Matthews, Sensei Stagg, and Sensei Kelly lead a team of dedicated and experienced instructors who are committed to providing high-quality karate instruction to students of all ages and skill levels.
