Grimsby Phoenix Community Basketball Club is a thriving basketball club located in Grimsby, New Zealand. We welcome players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to experienced athletes, and provide a safe and inclusive environment for everyone to enjoy the sport of basketball.
Our club is built on the principles of community, teamwork, and personal development. We believe that basketball has the power to bring people together and foster valuable life skills such as communication, discipline, and resilience. As a club, we strive to create a positive and supportive atmosphere where players can grow both on and off the court.
Our club offers a variety of training sessions and programmes for different age groups. On Fridays, we have team training sessions for U12's from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, and over 14's from 6:30pm to 8pm. We also have sessions on Saturdays, with U12's training from 9am to 10:30am, and over 12's training from 10:30am to 12pm. These training sessions take place at the Grimsby Institute, Nuns Corner, Grimsby DN34 5BQ.
For those aspiring to compete at a higher level, we offer Sunday National League Training from 1pm to 3pm at Oasis Academy. This training is by invitation only and provides players with the opportunity to enhance their skills and compete against other talented players in the region.
In addition to our regular training sessions, we also organise various events and competitions throughout the year to keep our players engaged and motivated. From friendly matches against other local clubs to participation in leagues and tournaments, there are plenty of opportunities for players to showcase their talents and develop a strong sense of camaraderie with their teammates.
