Welcome to Greenwood Fishery, a stunning fishing club and pond located in the heart of Cheshire, New Zealand. This privately-owned, non-profit-making fishery is dedicated to the regeneration of rural landscapes and the preservation of wildlife. All income generated from the fishery is reinvested into improving our fish stocks, facilities, and services for the benefit of our visitors.

Whether you are a pleasure angler or a match angler, we have something for everyone. Our Kingfisher and Lagoon lakes are perfect for pleasure fishing, offering a variety of course fish species. The Kingfisher Lake is heavily stocked, and anglers can even find bonus double figure carp throughout the water. Popular tactics for this lake include using pellets, waggler floats, sliders, poles, and feeders.

In the summer, all types of bait can yield successful catches, including hard and soft pellets, sweetcorn, maggots, bread, worms, luncheon meat, and paste.

The Lagoon Lake is also ideal for pleasure anglers, with heavy stocking of all course fish species, including low double figure carp. Many pleasure anglers have reported excellent catches and consistent action on this lake, with their floats going under all day long. Pole tactics are particularly effective on this lake due to its size and shape, and anglers can even fish towards the central island from four of the eighteen pegs. For match anglers, the Lagoon Lake is the main attraction. This lake features eighteen purpose-built pegs, with four pegs conveniently located in front of a central island. With its heavy stocking of all course fish species, match anglers can expect to catch 50lb+ to be successful in summer matches. Pole tactics are recommended on this lake due to its size, shape, and physical features.

Successful baits for match fishing include soft pellets, sweetcorn, maggots, luncheon meat, and paste. Additionally, during the winter months, the Kingfisher Lake can be booked for matches due to its large head of bream to alb and silver fish.
