Green Withens Watersports Centre offers sailing, bellboating, rafting, canoeing, kayaking, rowing, and even dragon boat activities. They have regular sessions on Tuesday evenings for sailing, bellboating, and rafting, as well as single-handed sailing on Friday evenings. On Saturdays, they offer three different activities for participants to choose from.
They offer sailing courses specifically designed for Scouts, Guides, Explorers, and even adults such as Network, Parents, and Leaders. These courses cater to all skill levels, from beginners to those looking to advance their sailing abilities. All courses are also open to members of Girlguiding UK.
In addition to regular activities and courses, Green Withens Watersports Centre also organises special events and badge days for young adventurers. They host district and county events upon arrangement and provide adventurous activity permit training and assessment.
For younger participants, there are specific days dedicated to Beavers and Cubs. Beaver and Parent Bellboating days are organised on a district or colony basis, allowing Beavers and their parents to spend quality time on the water. Beavers will have the opportunity to work towards earning their Time on the Water badge and Nautical Skills (Stage One) badge.
Safety is a top priority at Green Withens Watersports Centre. All participants are provided with a buoyancy aid and helmet for water activities. Parents are responsible for their children's safety and must be able to swim 50 metres and feel confident in the water. Non-swimmers who would like to participate in water activities can discuss their options with Green Withens in advance.
