Established in 1938, we have a long-standing history of introducing generations of Sydneysiders to the sport of sailing. Located on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour, our club boasts a stunning 180-degree panoramic view of the sailing area, stretching from Goat Island to Cockatoo Island. Our prime location offers a picturesque backdrop for both training and racing.
At Greenwich Sailing Club, we cater to dinghy sailors of all levels, from beginners to advanced. We have a range of learn-to-sail programmes and regular coaching sessions for various boat classes, including Optimists, Flying Elevens, Lasers, O’pen Skiffs, and 29ers. Our experienced and professional instructors are dedicated to helping you develop your skills and achieve your sailing goals.
Sunday afternoons are reserved for exciting competitive racing, providing an opportunity for sailors to showcase their abilities. We offer races for different boat classes, allowing sailors to compete against others in their category. It's an exhilarating experience that brings together our members for a day of friendly competition and camaraderie.
In addition to our sailing programmes, Greenwich Sailing Club also offers hall hire for special occasions. Our clubhouse is the ideal venue for birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings, with its stunning water views and ample facilities. The hall can accommodate up to 120 people and includes kitchen facilities, plenty of parking space, and easy access.
As a family-oriented club, we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all our members. Parents can enjoy watching their children's races from the balcony while socialising with other members and enjoying the scenic views of Sydney Harbour. In the evenings, members have the opportunity to socialise and relax on the clubhouse balcony, creating lasting friendships and memories.
