Great Totham Cricket Club is a village cricket club located in the heart of rural Essex, in Maldon. With a rich history dating back to 1870, the club has established itself as one of the most sociable and friendly sports clubs in the area. The club's main ground, Bull Meadow, has been the home of cricket for over 150 years.
Not only does Great Totham Cricket Club have a long-standing history, but it also has a strong connexion with the Great Braxted Cricket Club. The club's Third XI plays at Great Braxted CC, which is over 250 years old and has hosted Essex CCC on multiple occasions.
At Great Totham Cricket Club, cricket is accessible to players of all ages and abilities. The club boasts four senior teams that compete in the leading, Fourth, and Ninth Divisions of the T Rippon Mid-Essex Cricket League, as well as Division 2 of the North Essex Cricket League.
For younger players, the club offers a variety of options. The All Stars Cricket programme is available for children as young as five, providing a fun and introductory cricket experience. As players progress, they can take part in ability-based training sessions led by the club's team of ECB Level 2 qualified coaches, led by Paul Marks. The club also recently introduced Girl Power Dynamos Cricket, specifically designed for girls aged 8 to 11, to provide more opportunities for girls to get involved in the sport.
Competitive hardball cricket is available for junior players from the U11 to U15 age groups. The club strongly believes in giving young players opportunities to develop and grow, and encourages colts to play in the Third and Sunday XIs alongside players of similar ages. This allows them to continue their cricketing journey and gain valuable experience.
Great Totham Cricket Club is proudly sponsored by SRC Aggregates, a leading supplier of construction services to London and the Home Counties. The club is also recognised as an England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Clubmark Focus Club, highlighting its commitment to providing a safe, effective, and child-friendly environment for players.
Whether you're a seasoned player, a beginner, or a parent looking to get your child involved in cricket, Great Totham Cricket Club offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. Get in touch with the club to find out more about how you can be a part of this vibrant cricket community.
