Now, let's talk about the categories. There are 11 main categories that recognise the outstanding work done by individuals, clubs, leagues, and projects across grassroots football. We're talking about Coach of the Year, Female Pathway Coach of the Year, Male Pathway Coach of the Year, Disability Pathway, Grounds Team of the Year, Club of the Year, League of the Year, Match Official of the Year, Young Volunteer of the Year, New Volunteer of the Year, The Lioness Award, and the Positive Football Environment Award.
Here's how it works. Each County Football Association chooses a winner for each category from the nominations in their area. These local winners then form a shortlist for the national winners, who are selected by an FA judging panel. It's all about recognising those who embody the PRIDE values: Progressive, Respectful, Inclusive, Determined, and Excellent.
